Personal Top Five Coasters

1. Magnum XL-200, Cedar Point

Magnum debuted in 1989 as the worlds tallest roller coaster at 205' tall. Today, its still one of the best coasters out there, and my personal favorite. The trick to a great ride on Magnum is to tighten up your seatbelt as tight as it goes. My favorite seat is car 1 row 3 (Known as 1-3 by enthusiasts). I have more rides on Magnum XL-200 by far than any other coaster.

2. Shivering Timbers, Michigan's Adventure

Shivering Timbers is by far one of the best, if not the best, Wooden Coasters ever made. The airtime is incredible, as I hardly ever touch the seat when I ride it. You start off by going up the 125 foot lift hill and down 52 degrees. Up the second hill you're out of your seat from here to the end of the ride it seems. Once you hit the end, you curve around and go into a 'trick-track' where the track goes to the left then suddenly back to the right. The ride finishes with a great, intense helix just before the brake run. Front seat is best.

3. X, Six Flags Magic Mountain

There is only one word to describe X: insane. I loved this ride, yet I've only ridden it twice. I don't even really know how to explain the feeling you get on this ride. One second you are looking at the sky, next at the ground and next you're looking at a twisted blur of metal track. Then you go around curves and it feels like you're about to fly off. Before you know it, its all over.

4. Maverick, Cedar Point

Maverick is a different kind of coaster. From the launched lift hill to some 'serious sidewinding', it's a fun and intense ride throughout. The only real calm part of the ride is the horseshoe loops. The ride starts off with a launch up the lift hill, then a 95 degree angle drop, then some 'serious sidewinding' then an airtime hill followed by the loops and then into the tunnel. From there it launches over the pond and through a s curve before some more sidewinding. Probably my favorite element on the ride is the sideways track underneath the lift hill. It reminds me a lot of X at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The remaining elements include a 'almost loop' where you go upside down but never fully, then another airtime hill before the brake run. All in all a very complete ride.

5. Millennium Force, Cedar Point

Millennium Force is by far one of the best coasters ever created. It's speed, height and sheer intensity makes it one of the best coasters ever. A lot can be said about the big blue thing at Cedar Point, and it's all positive. It's a great, smooth ride. The first drop is great.
